Ally Weinhold
Practicing Comedian · Recovering Alcoholic · Aspiring Influencer
Ally Weinhold is a Los Angeles based comedian, social worker, and alcoholic. Thirteen years of sobriety and seven years of standup have taught her that laughter truly is the best medicine. When she’s not performing comedy or trying to convince her sponsor that astrology is a substitute for step-work, Ally can often be found using humor and creativity as clinical tools in the mental health field. Ally doesn’t care how cheesy it sounds, she believes that laughter is an important catalyst for human connection and has the power to heal trauma. She is committed to turning pain into punchlines, no matter how many family Holidays she ruins in the process.

Villain Origin Story

Ally (al vine) moved to Los Angeles in 2014 to pursue a career in acting. Believing that her hypersensitivity to life was training enough, she set out to book a dramatic role that would finally put all of her years of listening to Elliott Smith and “writing poetry” to use. Alas, she kept being directed towards comedy, and in 2017 she finally gave in and decided to try stand-up. Despite being hilarious, she struggled with the lifestyle associated with stand-up comedy- late nights, drunk audiences, getting paid in bar tickets- and eventually starting asking “what if comedy was used for good instead of evil?” And this is how Stand-up Therapy and the No Drink Minimum show were born. Today Ally uses her lifelong love of dark comedy and passion for finding light and laughter in life’s most painful circumstances with her training in social work to provide unique experiences in both therapeutic and entertainment settings.
